Sara Hanson is a visual artist and metal sculptor. She is a happy homeowner in the Logan Park neighborhood after living in her northeast warehouse space for seven years. After Sara received her BFA in sculpture from the University of MN, she began her career as an arts instructor, mentor and advocate for people with disabilities at Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts. Sara received a Public Projects grant from FORECAST Public Artworks for the Interstellar Record Project. The project involved a workshop, community metal pour event and the creation of a public sculpture on exhibition at the Art Depot in Red Wing, MN. Recently, Sara founded BroadCasting Metal-W.O.W. (workshop on wheels), a traveling sculpture foundry providing a fun and educational community experience.
Jonathan Hamilton is an artist who has lived in Northeast’s Audubon and Windom Park neighborhoods for the last 6 years. He has been designing and leading creative workshops in schools, Park and Rec. programs, and community organizations such as the Walker Art Center, VSA, and Opportunity Resources over the course of his career. After earning his BFA and K-12 Art Education Certification from the University of Montana, Jonathan came to Minneapolis to work as the Director of Visual Arts at Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts from 2001-2006. He is now an Exhibition Technician for the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
Jennifer Arave is a Minneapolis and Northeast based performance and conceptual artist. She works in the mediums of video & film, object performance, and conceptual public performance -- solo and collaboratively. Her work focuses on the interaction of people in the formation of identity. Her work places the art process paramount to the product. She has taught Visual Arts at the Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts for three years, a community of artist with disabilities. She has lectured and shown her work in Minneapolis, New York City, Burlington, VT and Boston. She received her BFA in Theater Directing from Virginia Commonwealth University and Her MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts in Performance Studies from Goddard College.
Anna Gove is currently the Director of the Inside Out Gallery at the Interact Center for the Visual and performing arts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Kansas. She currently resides in Northeast Minneapolis’ Windom Park neighborhood, and is committed to providing accessibility to the arts for people from all walks of life.
